Bram Platel

Bram Platel is a research scientist at Fraunhofer MEVIS and works on location at the Department of Radiology of Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre.

In 1997 he started studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology in Eindhoven from which he graduated cum laude in 2002. In February 2007 he obtained his Ph.D. at the Biomedical Image Analysis group on multi-scale feature selection and image registration.From 2007 until June 2010 Bram worked at the Maastricht University Medical Centre, where as an assistant professor he led the Image Guided Surgery group focussing on image analysis for neurosurgical procedures such as tumor resection, deep brain stimulation and spinal surgery.His current research is focused on computer-aided detection and diagnosis for breast MRI and neuro applications.
