Colin Jacobs is a faculty member of DIAG and software developer within the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of the Radboud University Medical Center. Within the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group, he leads the research and software development around the automatic detection and characterization of lung nodules in chest CT. This project is partially funded by and carried out in close collaboration with MeVis Medical Solutions (MMS). This project has resulted in the release of Veolity, an efficient workstation for reading lung CT scans. In addition, Colin is also leading the development of an oncology workstation.
Colin studied Biomedical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). In October 2010, he started as a Biomedical Engineer for Fraunhofer MEVIS and as a PhD candidate in the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group in Nijmegen. In November 2015, he obtained his PhD for his thesis entitled Automatic detection and characterization of pulmonary nodules in thoracic CT scans.
