Oscar Geessink is a PhD student at the Department of Pathology of the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen. He studied Technical Medicine at the University of Twente in Enschede and after his graduation in 2013, he worked on automatic quantification of tumor and stroma in rectal cancer histology at the Laboratory of Pathology East Netherlands (LabPON) in Hengelo. In July 2015, he started on the Alpe d’HuZes/KWF funded project “Automated assessment of immune cell infiltrate for reliable and affordable cancer prognostication”. This project is based on a collaboration with LabPON and the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU). Supervision is provided by Jeroen van der Laak, Francesco Ciompi and Iris Nagtegaal.
