Alessia Moretti is a master's student in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico of Turin, specializing in Digital Healthcare and Artificial Intelligence. She has previously completed the bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bologna.
From September 2026 she is developing her master's thesis in the Computational Pathology Group, under the supervision of Ivan Slootweg and Geert Litjens. Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of deep learning methods to predict Basal Cell Carcinoma progression from histopathology, with an emphasis on understanding whether morphological information alone is sufficient to distinguish progressive from stable BCC.
