Bálint Kovács

Visiting Researcher

Bálint Kovács is a PhD student at the Division of Medical Image Computing at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Medical Faculty Heidelberg, working on prostate cancer diagnosis on multi-parametric MRI and micro ultrasound, as well as on prostate cancer treatment via radiation therapy. He is also a visiting researcher at Radboud University Medical Center, working in the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group (DIAG). He received a double BSc degree in electronics and electrical engineering with embedded information and control systems specialization at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Kyungpook National University with the KEUDOS double-degree scholarship. He wrote his Bachelor's thesis on the development of optical biosensors. He was awarded a DAAD scholarship and continued his studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where he received his MSc degree in electrical engineering and information Technology with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering. In his Master’s thesis, he developed a brain-computer interface for the investigation of the human neuro-visual system using a deep learning approach.
