Maria Cristina Ferrández
Postdoctoral Researcher
Maria is a postdoctoral researcher who joined the Computational Pathology Group in January 2026. She is supervised by Jeroen van der Laak and she is currently involved in a project focused on the scoring of the Monkey Neurovirulence Test (MNVT) for the development of the polio vaccine using deep learning models. Maria studied Biomedical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) and obtained her PhD at the Amsterdam UMC where she developed deep learning tools for the analysis of PET/CT images of patients with lymphoma.
