Amparo Betancourt Tarifa

PhD Candidate

Amparo Betancourt Tarifa is a PhD Candidate in the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group (DIAG) and the Radiation Oncology department of the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. In 2022 she received her Joint Master’s degree in Medical Imaging and Applications from the University of Burgundy (France), University of Casino and Southern Latium (Italy) and University of Girona (Spain), where she was awarded a European Union Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship. Her Master's thesis focused on mass detection on full field digital mammograms using transformers. Currently, she is researching AI-driven tumor detection in combined MRI-Radiotherapy, under the supervision of Peter Koopmans.
