Henkjan Huisman is Professor of Medical Imaging AI at the NTNU where he is part of the Gemini Centre for medical imaging research and AI (MIRA https://www.ntnu.edu/mira) and the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging. He is staff member and group leader at DIAG (diagnijmegen.nl) and associated with the Department of Imaging of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. He has over 30 years of experience in scientific research, prototyping , and clinical validation of medical imaging AI. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology, received a PhD in 1998. His research team explores and uses AI to better understand disease, diagnosis, and therapy in the field of abdominal ultrasound and MRI aiming to implement innovations to directly impact healthcare. He is PI of PANCAIM (http://pancaim.eu) and director of the ICAI lab HealhtyAI.
