Henkjan Huisman is an Associate professor and Research Group Leader (RGL) at the Radboud University Medical Center. He leads an AI lab for diagnostic and interventional radiology AI and is the primary supervisor of 8 PhDs. He has been a Professor of Medical Imaging AI at the NTNU, Gemini Centre for Medical Imaging Research and AI (MIRA https://www.ntnu.edu/mira) at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging from 2021-2024. He has over 30 years of experience in scientific research, prototyping, and clinical validation of medical imaging AI. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology, received a PhD in 1998. His research team explores and uses AI to better understand disease, diagnosis, and therapy in the field of abdominal ultrasound and MRI, aiming to implement innovations that directly impact healthcare. He is the PI of PANCAIM (http://pancaim.eu) and director of the ICAI lab HealhtyAI.
