Leah Heil
PhD Candidate
Leah Heil is a PhD student at the CARA Lab. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Computing Science and continued her studies with a master’s in Data Science at Radboud University, focusing on AI and machine learning in healthcare. Leah completed her master's thesis in the CARA Lab under the supervision of Ruben van der Waerden and Jos Thannhauser, supported by an ELLIS Excellence Fellowship. Her thesis focused on the segmentation of intracoronary OCT images.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group and the CARA Lab under supervision of Niels van Royen, Jos Thannhauser, and Simone Saitta. Her project focuses on improving algorithms using AI to enable accurate 3D modeling of the coronary artery tree and precise co-registration of OCT imaging.
